Score Another for Good Tunage!
I was summoned to the PEZ alter at work (i.e. - the area over by Mark and Phil’s desk) to evaluate a tune’s hook. “Where is this from?” was the question. Well, I popped on the head phones and was greeted by, yes, a very familiar hook. But what was it?? I know I’ve heard this before! The first verse gave it a way… “Well, I feel like I have to feel something good all of the time…” Hey! I know this tune… it’s “The Lust, the Flesh, the Eyes, and the Pride of Life” by the 77’s! But that’s not the 77’s…? It was “Small Town Poets.” Cool! “Sticks & Stones” lives on! If only I could get my hands on that album for something less than $135! But is good to hear people keeping Mike & Co.’s music alive. I even peaked Mark and Phil’s interest in the great music of the 77’s… ‘Twas my good deed for the day…
